Democracy in the future: we're back, and we need your help.

Thank you and congratulations to the more than 1,700 people who participated in Democracy in the Park since we began in May 2004. Democracy in the Park members were able to build a substantial grass-roots organization that made more than 187,000 phone calls to swing state voters.

Help us continue our momentum into the 2008 elections.

Democracy in the Park has joined with other grass-roots groups to form ACT NOW, an organization that brings New Yorkers together to reach beyond our borders and help Democrats take back the State Senate, the U.S. House, the Senate, and ultimately the White House.

In 2006, hundreds of New Yorkers worked with ACT NOW to reach out to voters in targeted Congressional and State Senate seats, and we helped now-Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins win a close and hard-fought election in Yonkers.

We have come a long way from the dispirited days following the 2004 election, and I hope you will join us as we regroup to put our country back on track in the years to come.
